ISB recently made headlines after it was accredited by the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and re-accredited by the Association for Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The institution thereby joins the exclusive club of schools worldwide that have acquired the privilege of both AACSB and EQUIS accreditations. Both the AACSB and EQUIS accreditations imply the recognition of superior quality in the education imparted to students at ISB.
The AACSB is an institution dedicated to advancing management education worldwide. ISB is among a handful of other Indian schools like IIM-C, IMT Ghaziabad, T.A. Pai Management Institute and XLRI, Jamshedpur, which have obtained the AACSB accreditation.
The EFMD EQUIS assesses institutes on quality in all aspects of delivery. The assessment methodology involves the appraisal of not only the effectiveness of the management studies delivered by the institute, but also takes into account factors like research facilities, e-learning units, executive education provision and community outreach. ISB joins other Indian Schools like IIM-A, IIM-B and IIM-C, which have secured the EQUIS accreditation.
Both these accreditations testify that ISB measures up to the top-rated business schools in terms of global standards of excellence. In a release, the Dean of ISB, Professor Rajendra Srivastava said, “Over the past 15 years, ISB has focused on building a high-quality teaching and research environment, delivering education that is responsive to the needs of businesses, the government and the larger society, and I am happy that our efforts are being recognised the world over.”
