Renowned actor and Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan inspired students at ISB Hyderabad in December 2016 by talking about the importance of learning lessons beyond books and classes. Speaking in line with the promotion of his movie Dangal, he stressed on the vital role active participation in sports plays in the all-around development of a person. He discussed the values that one can learn through sports like teamwork, confidence, discipline and much more that cannot be imparted by words in a classroom. To quote his talk at ISB, “Sports is an essential element for an all-round development of a person. If given to choose between going to school and sports I will choose the latter without a hesitation. Sports teach you numerous values without having to sit in a classroom environment.”
The 51 year old actor was joined by Director Nitesh Tiwari and his on-screen daughters from the firm Dangal. While talking about the sports drama, he discussed fundamental issues like how India under-emphasizes sports resulting in low participation and less victories to bring home. Like in the movie where he encourages his daughters to excel at an unconventional sport in a conservative village, he encouraged students at ISB to take up sports and learn the important values that it teaches.
The film is said to be the highest grossing Hindi movie with a box office collection of Rs.345.3 crore as of January 2017. This is a testament to the passion and dedication that goes into creating a film that is both inspiring and enlightening. He talked about how he has abundant energy to dedicate to the film because he loves his work. He discussed at length the teamwork that goes behind the release of a film. At the end of his talk, he addressed questions from fans and also shook a leg to a popular hit from his film.
