Qn: Tell us what you currently do?
A: I work as analytics manager for a leading Telecom company in the US….I analyse these campaigns and recommend whether we should go ahead with rollouts or not, or if we should change something in these campaigns. I am also responsible for our relationship with some of our external analytics vendors.
Qn: Why do you want to do an MBA?
A: The first time I decided I wanted to do an MBA was at my previous job as an account manager. One of my responsibilities there was to grow business….Now to succeed, or even get into that role I would need to develop skills like global leadership, a broader perspective of business, knowledge of functions outside just marketing like Finance, supply chain management etc, which are best acquired through an MBA.
Followup Qn: What are some of the companies that you are looking to join after MBA from ISB?
A: BCG, McKinsey, Deloitte, AT Kearney.
Qn: What is your long term goal?
A: My long term goal is to be a global leader in a consulting firm. I want to be able to identify global industry trends and accordingly reflect that in investments and strategies of my clients. I want to be able to provide thought leadership.
Qn: What have you done after your previous app?
A: I completed an online course in Machine learning from Stanford, and am trying to implement a state of art analytics in our processes. I change jobs since I last applied in a pursuit to learn about another industry outside CPG and Retail.
Followup Qn: Where is Machine Learning right now and where do you see in the next 5 years?
A: Right now Machine learning is being used in a lot of different industries. Eg: Companies like Netflix use Machine learning models to classify its subscribers…In the next 5-10 years Machine learning will help us automate decision making to a further extent…
Followup Qn: Do you think ML will be able to accurately predict based on people’s preference of looks?
A: That’s what we are aiming to get to. The whole point of Artificial intelligence is to be able to make logic of emotions and be able to apply that in models. I think that’s where the industry is headed.
